Situated on Orr hill, Pinnacle is a park with
breathtaking views and vistas. The Park lies on the north end of Orr hill, part of the Allegany Plateau of southern
New York and northern Pennsylvania. From the Lodge, there is a dramatic view of the Canisteo River Valley. Oaks and Pines
dominate the hilltop surrounding the golf course. The land which is now Pinnacle State Park was originally known as
the Ackerson Farm. The Property was next operated as a private recreational golf and ski facility. Corning Glass
Works acquired the property and in 1978 donated it to the people of New York State. The Finger Lakes Park Region officially
opened Pinnacle State Park, the first golf course in the region. In 1986, an addition of approximately 115 acres known as
Levi Pond brought the Park to its present size of approximately 730 acres. This surely is one of New York States "Best
Kept Secrets"
